The UNAA is an association of people and organisations whose aims and activities include: support for the United Nations in attaining its purposes according to its Charter; promotion of knowledge about the United Nations and its agencies; recognition of the rights and duties of Australia as a member of the United Nations.

Meetings are held on the second Friday of every month at 1 PM. The meetings are held at 4 Battery Square, Battery Point. New members welcome!
UN International Years 2009
The next meeting will be held at International House, Battery Square, Battery Point at 1pm on Friday 10 July.
The next general meeting will be held this Friday, 8th May 2009, at 1pm at International House, Battery Square, Battery Point. A number of issues will be covered at the meeting, including the upcoming UNAA Lecture Series, UN Supporters Network.

The March 2009 meeting is on this Friday, 13 March 2009. It will be held at International House, Battery Point at 1pm. All are welcome.
Due to conflicting obligations the next general meeting will not be held this Friday. Rather, the next meeting will be held at 1pm 27 February at International House, Battery Square, Battery Point. The Committee has been considering some exciting UNAA events for this year which will be discussed at the meeting, as will a proposed new meeting format.
The Australian Institute of International Affairs and UNYA is co-hosting a lecture by Professor Yuki Tanaka this Thursday 27th November at 4.30pm at the Friends Meeting House, New Town. The topic of the lecture is "War Crimes Prevention in Today's World: Lessons from Japanese Atrocities in the Asia-Pacific War".
The UNAA Christmas lunch has been confirmed for 12 December at Parliament House (at 12noon). Duncan Kerr will be the guest speaker and will be talking about "Australia's new approach to the Pacific Islands". Please RSVP to Simon Gates (Secretary) if you will be attending the lunch.
